Caitlin is a passionate Solicitor who works with a range of cases, for example: asylum, trafficking, domestic abuse and family reunion.
Prior to undertaking her legal traineeship in 2019, she worked as a project lead at Citizens Advice in Stirling where she coordinated a project designed to assist vulnerable groups in applying to the EU Settlement Scheme.
She joined Katani & Co in March 2021, having started her traineeship with a different Immigration firm. She has now finished her traineeship with the firm and continues to practice as a Solicitor.
Caitlin has a keen interest in human rights and protection claims relating to gender-based violence and LGBTQ+ issues. She is incredibly dedicated to providing a trauma-informed approach to dealing with clients and the intersectional nature of their issues.
In her spare time, Caitlin volunteers for various organisations. Among other things, she currently volunteers on the national helpline for Rape Crisis Scotland, providing practical and emotional support to survivors of gender-based violence. She is a Director and Trustee of the charity Equanicity which provides a platform to amplify the voices of those from minority ethnic backgrounds.
Caitlin is often involved with the Young Women’s Movement in Scotland, with them having recognised her as one of their 30 Under 30 Inspirational Women in 2019. Most recently with them, she has co-authored a report on women’s safety on public transport which has been presented to Glasgow City Council.
