Ashleigh developed a keen interest in human rights throughout her undergraduate degree. Ashleigh choose to research the topic “Do the Scottish and UK Government do enough to tackle the problem of child trafficking?” for her dissertation.
Ashleigh then graduated with an honours degree in Law in 2012 and spent three years working for Japan Exchange and Teaching in Japan. During her time in Japan, Ashleigh volunteered for Amnesty International and continually promoted human rights issues that were prevalent throughout Japan.
In 2016, Ashleigh secured a position volunteering with the Citizens Advice Bureau where she regularly assisted vulnerable clients with a range of complex matters.
Ashleigh studied the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Strathclyde part-time whilst working at Katani & Co as a legal secretary.
Ashleigh began her traineeship with Katani & Co in June 2018. Through the traineeship, Ashleigh has assisted clients with their asylum and immigration matters. Ashleigh appears regularly at the Asylum and Immigration Tribunal.
Ashleigh is committed to providing the best possible service to all her clients.
Away from the office, Ashleigh spends a lot of her time with family and friends. Ashleigh has a particular interest in travelling and exploring different cultures.
Ashleigh also volunteers as a judge at Law Society of Scotland’s annual Donald Dewar Memorial Debating tournament.
