Solicitor

Elisabetta specialises in immigration and asylum with particular focus on matters relating to the UK Immigration Rules, protection claims and human rights claims.
Elisabetta is an experienced lawyer in Italy and qualified as a Scottish solicitor in 2017. She worked for an Italian Civil Notary as a legal counsel and, considering the role of Notaries in the Italian legal system, she learnt an approach to legal matters enabling her to deal not only with day-to-day tasks, but also with unaccustomed matters. Her role consisted in analysing and addressing the legal issues involved in commercial transactions and corporate operations and supervising the work of the paralegal team.
After this experience, she started her own practice in Italy and advised Italian and foreign clients on contentious and non-contentious matters with particular focus on cross-border transactions.
Thanks to the European Lawyers Programme (ELP) - organised by the European Lawyers' Association (ELA) in collaboration with the Faculty of Advocates - she had a unique opportunity to experience how law is practised in Scotland. Admission to the programme was competitive and she was one of the ten selected candidates. The ELP provided her with the chance to shadow advocates dealing with a wide range of matters, with a particular focus on immigration and asylum matters. Her tasks included:• studying her DevilMasters' cases;• attending consultations with solicitors and clients;• shadowing her DevilMasters when they appeared before courts and tribunals and assisting in the preparation of legal opinions and other legal documents.
In particular, she worked alongside Kenneth Forrest, who specialises in immigration and asylum .
Thanks to her experience, she decided to remain in Scotland to practise as an immigration lawyer.
She appears before the First Tier Tribunal on a regular basis.
Elisabetta has been the President of her Rotaract Club and the Secretary of her Rotary Club in Italy. In her spare time she likes travelling around Scotland (especially to the West Coast). She is learning to play golf and is a consul for the Internations expat community in Edinburgh.
